Are you fully protected against possible claims?
Production freelance crew are continually offered insurance policies designed for other industry sectors - often for construction workers. These policies fail to meet many major risks that freelance crew face and could leave you incorrectly insured.
The range of insurances offered by Torribles, however, have been designed specifically for the production services industry by people who understand what's involved. You can rest assured the policy will correctly cover the risks you are exposed to.
"I was working on an expensive mixing desk. When it was damaged, I was sued by the equipment hire company, but my insurance policy at the time excluded claims for property being worked on and the claim was turned down. My new policy with Torribles covers all these loopholes."
Public Liability Protection
A growing requirement across the industry is that freelance crew hold their own public liability insurance. This will cover you in the event of an injury or damage to a third party's property to a standard £2 million limit. (An option of a £5 million limit is available). Costs of legal representation and damages, if awarded, are covered.
Unlike other policies, Torribles' public liability cover is free of height restrictions, operates worldwide and includes cover for equipment that you are working on.
"Other policies I have looked at restrict height work to 3m or limit cover to the UK and Europe. Torribles' policy doesn't impose any unrealistic limitations on how you do your job."
Employer's Liability Cover
If you instruct or supervise other crew members you effectively take on responsibility for the way they operate. If one of them than suffers an injury, they could sue you for damages. With employer's liability cover, your legal representation costs and payment of any damages are taken care of, up to a limit of £10 million.
Torribles' employer's liability cover doesn't impose height or geographic restrictions and includes cover for equipment you are working on.
Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance
One of the best policies on the market, Torribles offers a broad insurance cover for your trips abroad - whether they're for business or pleasure. The policy beats the competition by including winter sports cover; a trip limit of 30 days (with easy to arrange 30 day extension periods); extensions for partner and family; and the ability to insure higher sums.
Nuclear, Chemical and Biological exclusion
This insurance does not cover any claim(s) in any way caused or contributed to by an act of terrorism involving the use or release or threat thereof of any nuclear weapon or device or chemical or biological agent
For the purpose of this exclusion an act of terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group(s) or persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s) or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological or ethnic purposes or reasons including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.
If you are injured - while at work or not - Torribles has a policy that replaces your weekly wage for up to one year. Premiums are based on average earnings. An annual premium of £237, for example, would give you £500 a week for 52 weeks. And if you suffer a serious injury that prevents you from working again, the policy will make a one-off capital benefit payment of £100,000. Unlike many others, this policy provides 24 hour cover and is not restricted to work-related incidents.
